The work of the Workforce and Employment Services team centers around three main focal points: workforce development, noncredit programming, and job search readiness. Strengthening the workforce of Jefferson County benefits everyone. We support our employer partners by providing customized training opportunities and access to grant funding to support the upskilling of current employees and training of new employees.
Through our noncredit programs, we offer short term, career focused program in in demand career fields. By listening to our employer partners, we ensure that we provide relevant training. We are able to support our student by partnering with programs such as SkillUP and WIOA to cover tuition. These programs provide opportunities for students that might not otherwise be able to afford training.
Effective job search strategy is an area where we assist our students, alumni, and community. Through classroom presentations, one on one meetings, and resources we teach students how to effectively write a resume, prepare for an interview, search for a job, and consider job offers. This allows these individuals to be more effective and confident in their job search.
