Mentoring is who I am and what I do in both my professional and personal life. Mentoring is a treasured individualized relationship where my goals are to construct experiences that support an individual in enriching their professional or personal development.
It is imperative that I as a mentor create a strong and protected relationship with my mentee which ensures a fertile ground for them to flourish by recognizing their gifts and talents; guarantees a safe space for them to share their toils and joys; and provides a platform for them to excel in their knowledge and understanding.
I have always been passionate about giving back and intentionally volunteer in numerous capacities with numerous organizations. I believe as Muhammad Ali states, "Service To Others Is The Rent You Pay For Your Room Here On Earth." Adult literacy is one of the primary ways in which I choose to ensure equal rights and equitable opportunities for adults.
My life's work has been to help faculty grow their research careers. My strengths have helped faculty in finding funding, developing their proposals, and hopefully implementing their project.
