My name is Mark Gale and I am an Associate Professor of Instructional Design at Athens State University and serves as the Interim Director over Athens State's Teaching and Learning Center (ATLIS). I have over 15 years of experience with design and delivery of technology enhanced and online courses. In August 2022, I served as the principle investigator on a grant proposal that was awarded to the University and launched the university's ActiveFlex project. In my role as Interim Director, I am focused on enhancing aspects faculty development. Other research interests include anything that enhances student success and engagement in courses - especially when using technology to enhance these elements. Specific research interests include gamification, the role of multimedia in courses, and developing active learning elements in online courses. Some of my general interests include multimedia development, board games, video games, Legos, and anything else his two young kids are interested in.
