Jaynie Mitchell is a PI and the Project Manager for Linfield’s NSF EPIIC CREATE grant. Prior to this work, she served as Director of Grants and Sponsored Research at Linfield University, a private historic institution headquartered in McMinnville, Oregon where she provided pre- and post-award support for faculty and institutional grants. Prior to this appointment in 2022, Jaynie served as a research developer for the McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University. She holds a master’s in Humanities from California State University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Brigham Young. Her research focuses on organizational structures in higher education, which include research-practice partnerships and high impact practices. During her 20+ years in higher education, she has served as the Dean of Community Education and Director of Dual Enrollment for a San Jacinto College District in Texas and served at several other 2-year public colleges in Oregon. Her favorite past times include reading, writing, community involvement, public speaking, facilitating educational workshops, and enjoying visits with her 21 grandchildren.
