Edward Randolph Randy Collins

Experienced Electrical Engineering Professor, with more than 30 years of experience. Research and teaching focus areas include electrical engineering, power systems, power supplies, power quality, power electronics, electrical motors and generators, motor controls, renewable energy systems, grid integration, electronic lighting and control. Extensive experience in general aviation, including aircraft electrical and mechanical systems, avionics, and flight instruction.

Recipient of numerous teaching awards, three prize paper awards, and inventor on three US patents. Fellow of the American Council on Education. Senior member of the IEEE. Numerous speaking engagements domestically and internationally to a wide variety of audiences.

Extensive experience as higher education administrator, including dean, associate dean, executive director, and associate vice president. Responsible for a wide variety of areas, including leadership, faculty and staff hiring and evaluation, budgeting, strategic planning, project management, business development, and international relations.

Well-versed with international higher education and study abroad, including leadership experience at the international level. Extensive experience with accreditation, curriculum design, and articulation agreements, e.g., ABET and engineering programs.

Avid aviation enthusiast, with extensive experience in general aviation. Holder of Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) multi-engine and Commercial Pilot single-engine licenses, and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) for single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument airplane. UAS Remote Pilot certification. Expertise in general aviation aircraft electrical systems, avionics, flight controls, and aircraft systems.

Extensive consulting experience as an expert witness, including patent and trade secrets, forensics and root cause analysis. Experience includes prior art analysis, research, validity/invalidity analysis, claim construction, infringement analysis, expert reports, and testifying in depositions and trial.
